Hello I’m Lisa Bent and welcome to the PH ZONE. In last month’s podcast, I expressed the importance of following your Blueprint, which is your own path. I acknowledge this takes time and where do you even begin in knowing what your blue print is? The Yellow World by Albert Espinosa is a book I started reading this week. It jumped out at me amongst the many other books in the bookshop due to its title. I read the first page and was sold; it’s this first page that I want to share with you.
Hello I’m Lisa Bent and welcome to the PH ZONE. This month I attended TedXBrixton which was just what I need to move me out of feeling stuck which I expressed in my July podcast.
Scientist Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock moved me to tears. Her clear passion and love for what she does was evident in her presentation, which was inspiring and refreshing. Her words tapped into my soul’s desire which is to live and breathe my passion. I am still searching but know the answer is there, currently lying dormant. though stirred by this formidable women who is not confined by internal or external boundaries or limitations.
Hello I’m Lisa Bent and welcome to the PH ZONE. This month has been a strange month for me. Strange in the sense that I have felt, and still feel stuck and un motivated. This happens from time to time and people have different ways of moving through it.
I currently have too much Yang in my day to day life. I am working long hours, indulging too much in the wrong foods, and I am not getting enough sleep. Although I am finding time to go the gym 3 times a week, I am out of sync and far from being balanced. In fact I am not working harmoniously at all because I am eating the wrong foods and then telling myself it’s okay “because I am working it off in the gym”. This is a self-sabotaging cycle which I have only just truly acknowledged and will need to change. Read Kehinde’s blog again and think about your own schedule. Do you have too much of Ying or Yang? What do you need to change in order to lead a healthier and balanced life?
Hello I am Lisa Bent and welcome to the PH ZONE. This month I hosted the first ever I’mpossible Conversations: Youth Edition at The House of Commons. It was an amazing and inspiring event. The question of being good enough was asked by a school child and I realised that this is a question that may continue to rise within us. As a result this month I want to read Marianne Williamson’s “Our Deepest Fears” from her book a Return to Love, in the hope that it nudges you into re-affirming that you are indeed good enough
International Women’s Day is on the 8 March every year: It is a day that celebrates the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. At this time many events happen across the world and I wanted to use this opportunity to reach out to all the young girls and women who believe they have to change who they are to be like somebody else. This is not true. You are perfect just as you are. However you have to believe it and see it for yourself. Knowing who you are is a journey; be kind to yourself, have patience and listen to yourself by developing your self-awareness, self-acceptance and self-love. These are the 3 core conditions of Self-Central.
I personally haven’t written a diary since I was in secondary school, but there are benefits to this process also. No matter what you choose to call it, or how regular you choose to do it, processing your thoughts is extremely beneficial as it allows whatever is in, to flow out.
Being the CEO of your life means that you are being and living the best possible you. This doesn’t happen over night. First you have to look at where you currently are, where you want to be and then create goals to make it happen. I recently wrote a blog called “Grain of sand living” as I felt stuck and bored. I find these feelings usually pop up when I am due for a change. If this is how you feel it may be your mind, body and soul trying to push you to do more or something different. Listen and take note of what is happening.
The question I would like to ask for those currently searching for love is… what are you looking for? When we search for something in this context it is because we have a need that we want to be filled. Take some time out and think about what that need is and then ask yourself whether you can fill this void yourself. I raise this as I have heard many people say “Having a boyfriend would make me feel confident/happy/loved” My answer to that is no one can give you what you cannot give to yourself.
