How was the first day back? Stand on the tube under the armpit of someone who should have got a ‘soap on a rope’ for Christmas? Did you write your ‘Dear John’ letter to the snack vending machine? Have a close encounter with the person in the office who leaves you breathless, every-time? (not in a good way).
What ever happened in your day I hope you remembered to breathe and then let it go.
Speaking to some of my girlfriends today, it seems there are a number of us who have dreams to get something in our life in order, but just haven’t got ’round to it’. A couple of years ago, I was planning to stop procrastinating about changing some unhelpful habits. It took me a while…
The longer it took, the more my health deteriorated. By the time I got around to addressing the imbalance of doing too much – you know, being active at work but not necessarily productive; I had no choice but to make my health and wellbeing a priority. I was stressed out. Sound familiar? No. That’s great! (Maybe you can share some of your tips with us over the next 90 days to keep us on track)
For those who it does resonate with, let’s take a small step each day. Press play on Wednesday 12 January and do the 90 Day Challenge and get around to what ever it is you have been meaning to get around to. Whether it’s sorting out finances, giving up smoking, exercising, eating more healthily, dating, losing weight or spending more time with family.

‘Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.’ Marianne Williamson
NOTE: Anti-Procrastination tools
A friend of mine recommended these anti-procrastination tools. She is using them to help her focus on writing her dissertation. They are great for anyone that uses the internet to procrastination when working on the computer. These tools help you to block out interference from social media sites and the internet.
- Three tools/apps that merely darken the background, so you don’t become distracted with multiple windows: http://smokingapples.com/software/reviews/3-mac-apps-to-help-you-concentrate/
